2020 gets a bad rap

Why this year may not be as bad as we make it seem...

I think 2020 gets a bad rap.

I know there have been a lot of negative things that have happened this year and, sure, not everything has gone exactly according to plan the way we hoped it would be. But there can still be a lot of good to find if we just know where to look.

Yes, my job was put on hold, all my plans were all canceled, and things haven’t worked out exactly as planned, but maybe that is exactly what I needed to help re-evaluate myself, put things in perspective, and be appreciative of my surroundings.

  • This year has made me super grateful for what I do have.
  • This year has given me time to focus on new crafts and endeavors.
  • This year has given me time to work on and develop my professional skills.
  • This year I’ve done so many things I would’ve never expected to do.
  • This year I’ve made some new friends and built some really great relationships.
  • This year I’ve had countless new experiences, travels, and forever memories.
  • This year I’ve spent more valuable time with my friends and family than ever before.
  • This year I am the healthiest and in the best physical shape I have ever been in my life.
  • This year I’ve learned so much and the year is not even near over.

If we stop comparing our year to the year that someone else is having, a previous year, or the year we intended to have, the goodness of 2020 can start to be realized.

I definitely don’t have it all figured out and I know that there are a lot of things that aren’t pretty right now, but Life is Beautiful and it is meant to be celebrated. Just know that whatever challenges you are going through, you’re not alone. Your year can still turn around too.
